Congratulations to the New Britain High School ProStart Team! On Friday, January 8th the Connecticut Restaurant Association sponsored the Connecticut ProStart Invitational at the Lincoln Culinary Institute in Shelton. ProStart is a culinary and management program for high school students. Students from New Britain High School, Waterford High School and Stamford High School participated in the ProStart competition to earn a spot at the National ProStart invitational and a number of scholarships to culinary schools.
For the fourth year in a row, New Britain High School took top honors. Waterford came in second and Stamford took third place.
With their win, New Britain's ProStart team will travel to Overland Park, KS at the end of April to compete in the National ProStart Competition. As they winning team, each student won $1,000 scholarships to Johnson & Wales University, $3,000 scholarships to the International Culinary Schools and a $500 scholarship to Monroe College.  |
