The Connecticut Hospitality Educational Foundation (CTHEF) is pleased to announce that it will be awarding several $1,000 scholarships to Connecticut residents studying for a career in the hospitality industry.
Eligible scholarships winners will be Connecticut residents, high school seniors or individuals who have graduated from high school and will be attending a Connecticut two-year or a four-year college, enrolled in a tourism or hospitality degree program on a full or part-time basis (minimum 6 credit hours). Interested individuals must submit an application along with one (1) letter of recommendation, a transcript of a current academic record, a personal letter of intent and a personal resume to the Executive Director of the Connecticut Hospitality Foundation on or before September 21, 2007 (firm). Winners of the scholarships will be notified by October 5, 2007 and will receive the awards at the "Salute to Excellence in Hospitality" Dinner which will be held in Hartford on Monday, October 15, 2007. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic and personal achievement as well as a demonstrated interest in the food service, lodging and tourism industries. At the Salute dinner winners will receive a plaque of recognition and a scholarship check in the amount of $1,000.
The scholarships will be awarded by the Connecticut Hospitality Educational Foundation, an educational partnership of the Connecticut Restaurant Association and the Connecticut Lodging Association. CTHEF was formed in 2001 to advance the highest quality of educational programs and promote career opportunities within the Connecticut hospitality industry. Since its founding the foundation has awarded nearly $45,000 in scholarships to Connecticut hospitality students.
